MRT3 TRACE - FAQs

Due to the pandemic COVID19, it will be used for contact tracing

Click on the sign up button and fill in the necessary details

As it is a web-based application, any device with a web browser (Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or default browser from the device) is compatible.

Web-based application can be used regardless of device type (Android or iPhone).

You will need to register again, as if you need to be contacted, you will be contacted through the number you provided

As long as you are still using the same mobile number, you don’t have to register with a different device

Unfortunately, the application requires a web browser. If that is not possible, you can still register through the manual process

You only need to access the web application once through the Web browser. If you have Google Chrome, there is an option to add the page to the home screen.

Other web browsers also have option to add page shortcut to the home screen

We highly encourage passengers to register from home, as the Sign in and filling out of the Form can be accomplished within a brief period.

We will provide a video tutorial that will demonstrate how the web application works. The web application itself is easy to use, and is user friendly and intuitive.

The application utilizes Geolocation ensuring that the commuter is within the identified premises of the MRT3 Stations

QR Codes are posted within MRT3 stations to securely confirm submission of data

The MRT3 stations provide WiFi access from its facilities. One time registration can also be done at the comfort of your home, but in the event that Internet Connection is not possible whether through WiFi or Mobile Data, you can still record through the manual process and your data will be encoded into the system.

We are committed to providing a continuous service for our web application. In the unlikely event that the web application cannot be accessed, you can still register through the manual process

As the web application requires Internet Connection, you will need connectivity when you submit the data. Upon submission, however, your data will be saved in the system.

Camera must be allowed in order for the browser to use it for scanning QR codes. On the phone, go to Settings > Application. The permissions of the web-browser to be used must allow Camera and Location services. Phone settings may vary by: operating system (OS) , OS version, brand and phone model.

The issue may be resolved by closing applications that may be using the phone’s camera such as videocall, video recording, etc.

Location services must be allowed to pinpoint that the user is inside the identified geolocation of the system. On the phone, go to Settings > Application. If user is inside the station, the user may try to make a figure 8 until phone’s location is calibrated then try to select an entry station.

It means that the personal and private data you provide in the web application is protected and kept confidential at all times

We are collecting this personal data as part of our contact tracing system. This data is not shared with any third party, unless there will be an official request by the local authorities for reasons of public interest in the area of public health

The web application is accessed through a secure connection, and all data collected is stored in a secure server and facility
